I've struggled with Spanish all of my life, despite growing up in a bilingual home. While I had taken some formal classes, there were lots of holes in my understanding that conventional courses simply couldn't help me with. Mariu, however, has been able to tailor my coursework to not only fix those gaps, but teach me more than I ever thought I could do on my own. She's helped me build so much more confidence with my Spanish, and because of that I feel like I can finally connect to my culture and family!

I like learning new Spanish words from Ms. Mariu. She lets us play fun Spanish games, which helps me understand what the words mean.

Working with Mariu has transformed my ability to truly converse in Spanish. After realizing that apps like Duolingo were helpful for vocabulary, but not enough for real communication, I began taking lessons with her twice a week—and for the past few years, she has been the perfect teacher. As a native Spanish speaker, she brings insight and clarity to every lesson, and her patience, positivity, and cheerful encouragement make learning an absolute pleasure. She has a remarkable ability to summarize and reinforce previous material in a way that builds confidence and fluency. I began studying with Mariu Rodriguez when I was preparing for the DELE A2 exam. I had been studying Spanish on my own, but I needed someone to help me understand how the test worked and what material I needed to focus on.   We met twice a week for about 6 months before the test, and I was able to pass it on the first try.  I have continued meeting with Mariu over the past three years, and I love my classes with her.  She is a delightful, thoughtful, and patient teacher, who is willing to tailor the classes to suit your needs and interests. Ms. Mariu is really nice and easy to learn from. She makes learning Spanish fun with games and videos. If I don’t understand something, she always helps me with the meaning. Overall she is patient, kind, great teacher.
